Hawkes Bay Design was established in 2004 by Helen Whittaker, a commercial design consultant, renowned for her honest, personal service and incredible passion for her craft. With over 20 years in the furniture and Hotel/Motel design industry, Helen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her work.
Hawkes Bay Design specialises in commercial hospitality fit out, particularly Hotels, Motels & Apartments, whether a completely new project or the refurbishment of an existing establishment. While Helen is based in Hastings, she works with clients from Te Anau to Northland and everywhere in between. Her experience around the different regions of New Zealand has proven successful in providing clients with superior design, dedicated personal attention to detail and excellent service. It is this, along with her exacting professionalism, which gives Helen a competitive advantage over other design firms.
Helen offers a total design package from colour schemes, room layout, furniture, soft furnishings, kitchen and bathroom chattels, artwork and graphics. Almost all of the furniture, furnishings and joinery Helen uses, are customised and manufactured to order in and around the Hawkes Bay. The competitive edge of local manufacture is passed onto clients. This proximity allows Helen to control quality and workmanship of all materials firsthand.
